Hayes Clothing |
Hayes clothing is worth a look, 1139 Pollokshaws Road just at Shawlands cross. Designer gear that's all about style and quality not just the label. Now with Heritage shop - sort of smart retro.

Big Brother comes to Shawlands -
no not
the Channel 4 TV show - our own Streetwatch spy camera at Shawlands Cross.
Rather difficult to spot, concealed inside a dark glass dome.
These cameras are supposed to deter criminal behaviour - their
effectiveness is disputed. But clearly not much of a deterrent if
you keep it hidden and don't tell people about it !
Shimla Pinks 769-777 Pollokshaws Rd, Glasgow, G41 2AX Tel: 0141 423 4488
Upmarket Indian restaurant with modern decor. One half is done up in chrome and glass but if this is just too cool for comfort, there's the blue room, with starched tablecloths and soft seats. All the usual suspects are on the menu (chicken tikka masala, chasni), but such is the freshness of the ingredients and the skill of the cooking that even these seem special. Real house specialities include assamese jalfresie chicken (chicken pieces in ginger, coriander, chillies, cumin and garlic). There's a two or three-course lunch deal during the week.
Is
this the best high street in Britain?
from the Evening Times 14.10.2005
Our comment: whether or not it wins best high street, it certainly has
crammed the most traffic lights into the smallest space for any
street in Britain. Does the council expect to win a prize for that?
